This session was a dream. I can’t wait to share it in full in a few weeks!
I LOVE THIS TRIO! Seriously. Lauren and Steven have been awesome friends of mine for a few years, and their daughter Lyra is one of the happiest little kidlets I’ve ever met. They were a cinch: we met at a local school and proceeded to literally walk in a circle and snap photos. Lyra had a natural curiosity about the camera (future photographer, anyone?) which made everything delightful — it probably didn’t hurt that we shot early in the morning, when she was most alert and enthused. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
(I’m the one in the LOVE sweater. Photo by Ariel!)
As some of you might know, I’m also a blogger — when not shooting weddings and sessions I’m working as the Managing Editor of Offbeat Mama, a branch of the Offbeat Empire (which also includes Offbeat Bride and Offbeat Home). This is an AMAZING job that I completely love and cherish, and one that has connected me with so many wonderful people — especially my co-workers!
Most of us gathered at Sacred Groves last weekend for a staff retreat. Sacred Groves is basically a woodsy, foresty wonderland filled with yurts and delicious food (and is also the old stomping grounds of our boss, Ariel). The four days we spent were awesome (see also: I took my first ever ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge Island!), and we also got to hang with Empire friends Kelli from Shindig Events and the photographer Jonas Seaman. Jonas also blogged about one of the nights here if you’re curious!
IN SHORT: I have been running around with my Empire cohorts, but now I’m back in happy wedding and portrait photographer land. New posts are coming up in the next few days!
I woke up early in the morning to hang out with these three, and I’m SO HAPPY I did — they’re magic:
I’ll blog the entire session soon — I just had to share these.
I love everything about these two! I have known Tara for a few years through mutual friends, but had never met Tyler until the day of this session. These two are so pleasant to be around — they each have an awesome sense of humor (which really came out while leafing through decades-old marriage guidebooks) and strong love for one another. Their June wedding is going to be something to fawn over for sure!
